Late Night Radio

Alex Medellin aka Late Night Radio is a Denver-based musician, producer, and pillar of the Colorado electronic music scene. His unique hybrid electronic sound is inspired by classic soul and third coast hip-hop, paying tribute to the sounds of the past while seamlessly ushering in the sounds of the future.

“The easiest way to describe my music is, ‘Electronic music for people who don’t really like electronic music’,” Alex explains. “There’s hip-hop bass and beats, which keep it relevant. However, I’m taking it into new territory.”

It’s also a style he’s been working towards perfecting for nearly a decade. The Houston native bounced from New Orleans to Austin to Temecula and eventually Big Bear. During 2011, he started composing music for online videos and commercials before relocating to Colorado and seriously pursuing the art as a career, going full-time in 2014. Along the way, he released a series of fan favorite EPs—Concrete College [2012], Far Into the Night [2013], Soap Box [2014], and Reflective Tangents [2016]. The latter yielded “Find the Love” [feat. Borahm Lee], which clocked over 1.3mil Spotify streams as the EP cumulatively tallied 3 million-plus. Emotionally charged and explosive live sets transformed Late Night Radio into a Denver sensation.

Through nationwide tours with GRiZ, The Floozies, Gramatik, Lettuce, and BoomBox, Late Night Radio expedited his position at the forefront of electro-groove. His performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Electric Forest, Shambhala, Hulaween, and Camp Bisco have intoxicated attendees from all walks of life. Praised by tastemakers like Live For Live Music,, EARMILK, and many more, it’s no secret that the visionary producer is crafting something unique. Having clocked in at #1 on HypeMachine’s popular remix chart with his official flip of Break Science’s “Anthemy Mason” and a #1 slot on Canadian College Radio Hip-Hop charts for his production work on Def3’s Small World album, his steeple-sized influence has transformed into something both atmospheric and quantifiable. 

At the heels of his critically acclaimed, gospel-motivated 2018 album Sunday [Philos Records], the beat crafting aficionado claimed 2019 as his own with the formidable unveiling of Further Into The Night. 2021 kicked off with the release of the 9th installment of his ‘Vinyl Restoration’ series, and continues with Late Night Radio & Def3’s forthcoming album Weddings and Funerals, their second collaborative album together out June 4th [URBNET]

In the end, the moniker Late Night Radio reflects the vibrant versatility at the heart of the sound.  “At 3AM, DJs will play whatever they want on the radio,” he leaves off. “That’s what I’m doing. It’s a very eclectic mix. It’s who I am.”

Like a locomotive, the quixotic producer shows no signs of slowing down.

Wax Future

Wax Future has been captivating listeners with a funk drenched hip-hop driven sound. Performing live The duo from Philadelphia takes listeners on an immersive journey. Guitarist Keith Wadsworth is known for his energetic performances, often times interacting with the crowd, creating in the moment connections. In the studio the two are known for their songwriting and the ability to bring forth music that is as emotionally captivating as it is sonically diverse. Connor Hansell’s production and engineering work harkens back to the glory days of recording, using as much analogue gear as he can get his hands on and sampling from vinyl records. Together the two craft music that is of the future, but is reminiscent of the past. Guitar work that ranges from soulful to technical intertwines with analogue synths, hard hitting drums and haunting vocal samples, to create music that is emotive and memorable.
Wax has been steady gaining steam, supporting acts like Big Gigantic, Pretty Lights, Tipper, Opiuo and many more. Recent accomplishments include releases with Atlantic Records, Gravitas Records, a video produced by Pretty Lights lighting director Lazer Shark, and multiple albums sold to Viacom. Their newest release “Source Code” has hit the ground running with 12,000 plays in the first week for the lead single “Style Like This”. In addition, their self released single “Cenote” has reached over 300,000 plays on Spotify.
